The Christmas Express celebrates the magic of Christmas and the adventures that begin when we open a book. We invite you and your family to climb aboard for a magical journey filled with beloved characters, timeless stories, and the joy of reading during the holiday season!

We are very excited for the opportunity to once again gather for Book Shopping with Tomfoolery Toys and Books, Grandparents & Special Friend’s Night, Alumni Afternoon Chapel and Shopping,
Storytime with Mrs. Claus, Photos with Santa, Silhouettes with Cindi Rose,
and a Merry Mahjong event for all of our wonderful SLDS parents!

The fundraising arm of the Book Fair provides tuition assistance for current families, supports literacy initiatives throughout the school, and professional learning for our incredible SLDS teachers.

Provides tuition assistance to 5 SLDS families

THE STORYBOOK CAR $2,500 - $4,999
Supports 4-6 teachers’ professional development at
Rice University School Literacy and Culture

THE JOLLY CAR $1,000 - $2,499
Supports travel expenses and lodging for 2-4 teachers’ professional
development at a national conference

THE MAGIC CAR $750 - $999
Funds prop boxes for dramatic play and storytelling in
the Early Literacy Lab (ELL)

THE MERRY CAR $500 - $749
 Provides registration funds
to attend a national conference for 1-2 teachers

THE SNOWFLAKE CAR $250 - $499
Provides 20 new books for the Children’s Library

THE TWINKLE CAR $1 - $249
Replenishes Pre-K and TK Book Bags with new books, activities, and games
